Hi! My name is Alissa Hegele (pronounced "hey-glee"). I am a Florida native: born in Gainesville; grew up in Auburndale (where my parents still live, between Disney & Legoland), moved to Boca Raton to attend Florida Atlantic University (Elementary Education, ESOL endorsed), and bought my first home in Boynton Beach.
*taught First Grade and Kindergarten at Spanish Academy Charter School in Boca for two years.
*got my Director's Credentials and worked for my church to start a preschool for almost a year.
*taught Kindergarten at Coral Reef for 5 months
*worked at Hidden Oaks Elementary for 7 years teaching kindergarten & first grade (known as Miss Jackson)
*This is my 3rd year teacher art at Franklin Academy.
My husband and I met in October 2011 (at a country concert), got married in October 2013 (in St. Augustine), and we had our son in October 2014. We've had some amazing Octobers!
I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay home with him for his first two years of life.
I love to all sorts of crafts: stamping cards, paper crafts, scrapbooking, using my Silhouette cutting machine, and creating digital invitations/posters. I've recently got a sewing machine and am looking forward to learning and practicing.
Recently I've taken on the role of Service Unit Volunteer Manager for the Girl Scout leaders in our area. I get to work with the local troops and plan events with them in the Delray, Boynton, Lantana area. I'm beginning my 4th year as a Girl Scout leader for my step-daughter's troop. We started as Kindergarteners as Daisies and are in our 2nd year of Juniors. We love it!
