We are back to work on our castles & sunflowers!
We have one more rotation to go and will be moving on to another project at the beginning of November. Before I search the thrift stores, I wanted to check with y'all.... Do you have an extra 6 hole cupcake tin you no longer want/need? It can be rusty & not food worthy. I'll just be putting condiment cups of paint in them.
It has officially been a year since I've been a part of the Franklin Academy family & I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know many new families as well as seeing many familiar faces from my previous teaching locations!
Last year's Square 1 Art project was a little rushed & unfortunately not every student brought back their artwork in time to be a part of the "free sticker club". That meant you weren't able to purchase items with your child's artwork to keep or give as gifts. So I intentionally began the projects early this year. I have to mail them out October 11th, so if I figured if I start at the beginning of September, I would have plenty of time! Well.... The hurricane came. And then we've had difficulties with an AC & I haven't been able to be in my room. Traveling with paint, brushes that need to be cleaned in between classes, water bowls that need to be empty & refilled, and sponges that need to be rinsed out into classrooms doesn't really work well. So now we are at crunch time & many students will not be able to finish painting their artwork in class! That's where Art Night comes into play! Your family can come and create artwork together, your child can finish their Square 1 Art project, and we get to hang out as a FABB-ily! In addition to Square 1 Art, students can work on their Sunflowers (3-5) or Castles (K-2), help with a mural, etc. I will continue working on Square 1 Art this week & even Monday, but I would love to see you Friday for Art Night! If you have any questions/thoughts/ideas, please let me know! |
